The prominent Australian gaming corporation, Aristocrat Leisure Limited, has successfully concluded a substantial $990 million acquisition of Big Fish Games Inc., an American social casino game developer formerly held by Churchill Downs Incorporated.
The purchase, initially unveiled in the preceding November, reached its culmination upon the fulfillment of all prerequisites, as per an official declaration issued by Aristocrat to the Australian Securities Exchange.
This tactical maneuver propels Aristocrat to the rank of the globe’s second-largest social casino publisher. To illustrate the magnitude, their revenue for the third quarter of 2017 alone attained an impressive A$641 million.
Trevor Croker, Aristocrat’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, conveyed his enthusiasm in the announcement, underscoring the significant strategic and financial merits of the acquisition. He stressed that Big Fish’s integration would immediately enhance their comprehensive digital platform, elevating their social gaming operations to a global second-place standing.
Croker further expounded on the synergy between the two entities, noting that Big Fish’s digitally-focused social casino content, coupled with their industry-leading meta-game functionalities and applications, ideally complements Aristocrat’s existing and dominant land-based digital content enterprise. He concluded by expressing his eagerness to partner with the Big Fish team and leverage the extensive opportunities this merger affords for shareholders and stakeholders alike.
