The European Casino Association (ECA) has declared a fresh board arrangement after confirming that Bettina Gratz-Kremsner will be leaving her position as Chief Executive of Casinos Austria.

Gratz-Kremsner’s position on the ECA board will be assumed by Erwin van Lambaert, who was recently named as the new head of Casinos Austria.

The ECA confirmed that van Lambaert will act as Austria’s representative on the ECA board, following a board meeting held during the ICE Totally Gaming exhibition in London in 2022.

The ECA also declared that Pieter Bolle, Vice President of Casino Gaming and Services in the Netherlands, will join its board, taking over van Lambaert’s empty position as the Dutch representative.

ECA President Per Jalden stated: “Bettina Gratz-Kremsner has made a crucial contribution to the land-based casino industry’s reaction to the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis over the past two years as a board member and ECA Vice President.”

“I extend my best wishes to Bettina in her retirement from Casinos Austria and, on behalf of the ECA, express my gratitude for her contributions to our organization and the casino industry as a whole.”

I am certain that our paths will cross again sometime in the future, and I eagerly anticipate that moment.

I seize this chance to commend Erwin van Lambalgen on his new leadership position at the Austrian Casinos. As a current and highly regarded ECA board member, I anticipate continuing our close cooperation.

I also extend a warm welcome to our newest board member, Pieter Bult, whose perspectives are essential at this critical juncture in the European land-based casino sector.

This reorganization follows the ECA’s announcement last month that French casino operator JOA Group became the first company in France to be certified under its responsible gambling program.
